When I first started putting real money into DeFi, I spent a lot of time looking for opportunities. Which protocol had the best yield? Which liquidity pool had the highest APR? Where could I put my capital to work? Those are reasonable questions. But after years of using DeFi—lending, liquidity pools, concentrated liquidity, yield farming, and experimenting across different chains—I think beginners should ask three different questions first.
