Base Ecosystem Deep Dive: A conversational breakdown of early-stage projects like LIQ, STAKR, and ELIOS—and why bear markets are where real research, positioning, and opportunity start to matter most.
Introduction: A Night at the Braves Game & A Reminder About Timing
Last night, I took my kids and family out to a Braves game.
Nothing crazy. Just one of those simple nights—laughing, watching the game, overpriced food, kids running around, and honestly… just being present for a bit.
And somewhere between innings, it hit me.
Not about baseball—but about timing during the Bear.
Because the stadium wasn’t full of people trying to rush anything. Nobody was trying to skip innings to get to the end faster. The game just unfolded the way it was supposed to.
And that reminded me of something important that applies to crypto just as much as it does to life:
👉 The best outcomes usually do not come from rushing. They come from understanding the process early, staying patient, and letting things develop.
That is exactly how I am looking at crypto right now.
Because let’s be honest…
Most people only get interested when:
Prices are pumping
Timelines are loud
Everyone is acting like easy money is back
But right now?
Things are quieter. I can actually think.
And that is exactly why this part matters.
Because crypto bear markets are not just for building.
They are for:
Research
Observation
Watching what survives
Finding the projects no one cares about yet
Building conviction before the crowd shows up
And sometimes…
👉 Even stepping in early with liquidity or small exposure if the conviction is strong enough
Not blindly.
Not because of hype.
But because you actually understand what is being built, what problem it solves, and where it may fit if the ecosystem grows.
This write-up is exactly that.
A personal deep dive into what I think could be part of the next stage of the Base ecosystem—and why I think this type of research matters more during hard markets than it does during euphoric ones.
The Part Most People Get Wrong About Bear Markets
Everyone repeats the same line:
“Bear markets are for builders.”
And sure—that is true.
But it is incomplete.
